The original designer of the Mrs Eaves small-caps font was John Baskerville. In 1757, he created this font in Birmingham, England, and named it after his wife, Sarah Eaves. Zuzana Licko redesigned the font with the original face in 1996. The contrast between the thin and thick strokes of the free-download Mrs Eaves Font is impressive. The font is also integrated with Microsoft Word software, and it is also included in the Adobe font libraries.
Baskerville wanted to create a flawless font style that was often criticized for accuracy, sharpness, and difficulty reading. Zuzana Licko reduced the contrast of the font so that it doesn’t spread ink on the printed format. Moreover, he also gave Mrs Eaves Fonts the appearance of small capital letters. She later presented the font at a competition in 1999 and won first place for its placement in a context.
